Speaking in Tongues: Speaking in tongues, or glossolalia, is a wonderful gift from the Holy Spirit, which enables a person's own spirit to connect more easily with the Spirit of God. It has a variety of uses, which we will discuss more in the teaching section of this website. Why would we need such an unusual gift? In the course of ministry and teaching others to minister the Lord has taught us much about this amazing gift. For a long time it has been devalued, even feared, by one part of the church, while being used but misunderstood by another. Far from being an unimportant or fearful phenomenon, tongues is vital in the life of the church and the individual believer. On the other hand, it is not THE sign of being spirit-filled that others have made it out to be, nor is it a mark of salvation. In fact, the gift of tongues is far more versatile, and has greater power than either of these two extreme positions has grasped. We will explore its nature, purpose, acquisition and effective use in this website.
| News: Seminars for 2007 ! ! ! !. Beth Tephillah Seminars for 2007. The Hearing God's Voice and Intimacy with God seminars of May and July have come and gone. Next we are having a seminar on: Generational Healing Just as we inherit many family characteristics, so too are blessings and cursings passed down through family lines, according to Deuteronomy 28. This causes dispositions to particular sins, relationship difficulties, many illnesses, and habits. This seminar aims to help participants learn how to deal with inherited sin and demons, and how to prevent them from being passed on to later generations. Cost: $25.00.
